Getting Ready with Mountain Views at The Rimrock Resort
The day began in the stunning Mountain View Suite at The Rimrock Resort in Banff, where Kathryn got ready surrounded by floor to ceiling windows and panoramic views of the Canadian Rockies. Soft natural light poured into the suite, setting the tone for a calm, joyful morning filled with anticipation, laughter, and those quiet moments before “I do.”
A First Look at Lake Minnewanka
Before heading back to the hotel, we made our way to one of Banff’s most iconic locations for their first look. Lake Minnewanka. With the mountains towering above and the lake stretching endlessly behind them, Kathryn and Chris saw each other for the first time in a moment that was both emotional and beautifully intimate. It was peaceful, private, and incredibly meaningful one of those moments that reminds you why Banff weddings are so special.
Exchanging Vows in the Lake Minnewanka Forest
After first look, Kathryn and Chris chose to exchange their vows in a quiet, forested setting near Lake Minnewanka.
Tucked away among towering evergreens and surrounded by the stillness of nature, the Lake Minnewanka forest offered an intimate and deeply meaningful environment for this private moment.
With filtered light weaving through the trees and the sounds of the forest all around, their vow exchange felt personal, emotional, and beautifully intentional. Away from crowds and distractions, Kathryn and Chris were able to fully focus on one another creating a moment that felt timeless and authentic.
Couple & Bridal Party Portraits at Lake Minnewanka
After exchanging vows, we moved through the surrounding forest and lakeside areas for couple and bridal party portraits at Lake Minnewanka. The contrast of dense evergreen trees, open mountain views, and textured natural paths created a rich and dynamic backdrop for elegant, editorial style imagery.
The bridal party portraits felt relaxed and celebratory, while the couple portraits highlighted Kathryn and Chris’ connection within the grandeur of the Canadian Rockies. These images captured both the intimacy of the forest and the iconic scale of Banff—an unforgettable combination that defines Lake Minnewanka weddings.
An Intimate Ceremony on the Bridal Suite Patio
Back at The Rimrock Resort, the ceremony took place on the Bridal Suite patio, overlooking Banff and the surrounding mountains. The views were absolutely breathtaking layers of peaks, and that unmistakable Banff magic. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, married by Bride's uncle, Kathryn and Chris exchanged vows in a setting that felt both luxurious and deeply personal.
Bride & Groom Portraits at The Rimrock Resort
After the ceremony, we explored the elegant interiors and scenic outdoor spaces of The Rimrock Resort for their bride and groom portraits. The architecture, mountain backdrops, and soft light made for timeless, editorial-style images that perfectly reflected the atmosphere of their day.
Kathryn later changed into a second outfit, and we celebrated with a champagne pop on the Bridal Suite patio, joined by one of their adorable puppy.
Reception, Celebration & Signature Cocktails at Diva’s Lounge
The celebration continued with reception and dinner, followed by drinks and dancing at Diva’s Lounge. Adding a fun and personal touch, Kathryn and Chris created signature cocktails named after their pets, which quickly became a guest favorite and added even more personality to the evening.
A Sparkler Exit to End the Night
To close out the night, we returned to the Mountain View Suite for a magical sparkler exit with the bridal party. Against the backdrop of Banff’s night sky and glowing sparklers, it was the perfect ending to an unforgettable wedding day at The Rimrock Resort.
