A Magical Surprise Proposal in Banff – Captured in the Heart of the Canadian Rockies.
It all began at the very windy Two Jack Lake in Banff, the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable moment: Eric’s surprise proposal to his now fiancée, Abbie.
As a professional Banff proposal photographer, I always start with a phone call to the person planning the proposal. I want to understand their vision whether it’s a sunset behind the mountains, over the lake, at the top of Banff Gondola, or even with fireworks. Once we plan all the details, we exchange outfit suggestions. This step is crucial not only does it make it easier to spot the couple (especially when I’m capturing candid moments from a distance 😄), but it also helps me prepare picnic setups, props, and photo friendly details to make the experience truly magical.
After Eric got on one knee and Abbie said yes, the celebration continued with strawberries dipped in chocolate and champagne, beautifully arranged by Canadian Rockies Experience, adding a luxurious touch to their Banff engagement day.
Just when they thought the day couldn’t get any more enchanting, I prepared a romantic picnic setup below Cascade Mountain, where the summer sunset over the Canadian Rockies created a breathtaking scene for photos.
